In July 2025 we launched what3words Pro, our first subscription tier which makes using what3words addresses smoother and more efficient for our most prolific users. Pro needed a strong voice, tagline and a standout visual identity to signal a premium product across every touchpoint, from app UX to campaigns to merch.
Pro's features were still evolving up to the final hour of each version launch, over a seven-month rollout of continuously updating features. Myself and the studio worked closely with Product to understand each new feature, walking through the UX details in Figma before a beta was available. I then established clear terminology and human-friendly ways to tell our users about these brand new capabilities, and get them excited to what3words like a Pro.
